So You’re Sayin’ There’s A Chance!?!?

July 20, 2012

Yes, it was a late training session due to life. Here’s the raw data from the treadmill:

Time: 2:39:09
Distance: 9.5 miles
Vertical (vert) Climb: 5,021 feet (10% grade)

The repeats looked like this:

  1.  58:24 to do 3 miles at 3 mph and 1,587 vert
  2.  60:13 to do 3.5 miles at 3.5 mph and 1,849 vert
  3.  40:32 to do 3 miles at 4.44 mph and 1,585 vert

The 3rd rep I did mile 1 at 4 mph, mile 2 between 4.3-4.6 mph and mile 3 at 5.1 mph. There was no break in between other than to reset the treadmill. In other words, I should finish and it may even be near that 4 hour mark. Of course, I have to overcome the lack of a perfectly smooth path, no iPod, no TV or solitaire, the elements, the altitude, the 16 Golden Stairs at the end and who knows what else.

The reward for that hard work tonight is quads that are starting to bark to go along with a caramel sundae and 4-piece chicken mcnuggets from McDonalds.
