Running Outta Time

July 23, 2012

I didn’t run today…sort of. I was scheduled for a 3-miler + my men’s league soccer. The run didn’t happen.

  1. Job Interview Prep- I’m currently unemployed in the financial services industry. I had a 9 am phone interview that I had to finish prepping for and do. Priorities, people, priorities!
  2. Sick Kid- Adam is feeling a little better, but he’s still sick. I took care of him for a big chunk of the day.
  3. Dad’s Taxi- My wife has a couple of part-time jobs she’s picked up since I was bumped off almost one year ago. She left for job #2 while I was wrapping up my phone interview. From there, it was taking care of Adam while chauffeuring my 6-yr old twins around to some previously scheduled activities.

The soccer match happened. Fortunately, the temps unexpectedly dropped and were a reasonable 83 degrees at kickoff. I played all 90 minutes and was pretty gassed at the end. That’s what happens when a 40-yr old is playing against guys in their early 20’s-30’s. We lost 2-0. Life goes on.

Tomorrow’s (recovery) workout:

4 miles in the morning

+

3 miles in the evening
